Earlier this year, I declared 2018 the Year of The Hawaiian. I would like you to join me in celebrating Prince Kuhio Day. Prince Kuhio fought for our Native Hawaiian brothers and sisters, working to pass the Native Hawaiian Homestead Act, revitalizing the historic Native Hawaiian Culture by restoring the royal order of Kamehamea and starting the first Hawaiian civic club. The collective successes of Kānaka Hawai‘i and the people of our State are an example to the world.
