Hawaiian Telcom Directories' Keiki Art Contest Winners!

[Taken from Hawaiian Telcom's Press Release - (offical link)]

"On June 4th, Hawaiian Telcom Directories presented cash prizes to the winners of its Keiki Art Contest, which drew entries from more than 1,600 public and private school students on Oahu. The winning artwork will be featured in the official 2006-2007 Oahu yellow page directory distributed to more than 1 million homes and businesses in October. Hawaiian Telcom Directories’ Keiki Art Contest, launched the beginning of April, was open to all public and private Oahu school students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Students were asked to portray the contest theme, “The Meaning of ‘Ohana,” by drawing or painting their favorite family activity or depicting what family means to them.

Prizes were awarded in four categories — kindergarten to second grade, third to fifth, sixth to eighth, and ninth to 12th — with first-place winners receiving $100; second place $75; and third place $50. In addition, each school with a first-place winner received $400.

Another highlight of the contest was a grand prize drawing open to all entrants for a weekend getaway for a family of four to Maui sponsored by ResortQuest® Hawaii and Island Air. As the winner, Raquel Palisbo of Highlands Intermediate School and three family members will enjoy two nights in a two-bedroom Garden View Suite at the ResortQuest at Papakea Resort."
